MOVING THE NATION THROUGH CRISIS: MOBILITY RECOVERY & RESTORATION TASK FORCE REPORT

In response to COVID-19’s impact on public transportation, APTA Chair Nuria I. Fernandez established the Mobility Recovery & Restoration Task Force in April 2020 and asked Phillip A. Washington, CEO, LA Metro, to chair the group. This report summarizes the Task Force’s work to support public transit agencies and reposition the industry for an essential role in the nation’s post-pandemic economic recovery.

HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITMENTS PROGRAM

APTA’s Health and Safety Commitments Program is the public transportation industry’s overarching pledge to passengers that our systems are operating safely as North America recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. Agencies using the materials developed for the Program sign a pledge to implement the commitments.

The guidance and best practices are designed to aid transit agencies. They outline the elements agencies might choose to follow.
